Damian Gornik (Communications Officer, Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR)) recently participated in a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) as part of the SMART-RURAL COST Action (CA24170).
As a member of Working Group 4, Knowledge Dissemination and Capacity Building, Damian travelled to Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia, where he worked alongside Prof Daniela Bojadjieva, the SMART-RURAL Action Scientific Coordinator, on the development of communication resources to support the Action’s dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities.
During the STSM, Damian contributed to the development of draft communication templates for documents, presentations, and scientific posters. This included creating templates for both internal activities, such as Working Group meetings, and external activities, including conferences and other dissemination events.
Damian Gornik also contributed to the development of communication guidelines for Action members, aimed at supporting a consistent visual identity and communication approach across SMART-RURAL activities.
In addition, work was carried out during the STSM on developing the first draft of the SMART-RURAL communication strategy. The draft includes the identification of target audiences for project deliverables, proposed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring communication impact, and a framework for measuring dissemination activities, including, but not limited to, digital channels, social media, and scientific publications.
The STSM successfully achieved its primary objectives and established a foundation for future communication and dissemination activities within the Action.
